3 Outdoor Activities to Enjoy This Summer

1. Fish, Row, Boat, and Camp at Recreation Park

Pack a picnic basket, load your fishing tackle in the trunk, and head to Recreation Park, the ultimate destination in Pampa, to get out in the fresh air and enjoy 134 acres of outdoor recreational fun. Stretch your legs on the hiking trail, shoot some hoops or play a game of sand volleyball, and spend time on the shimmering seven-acre lake rowing, paddling, boating, and hooking largemouth bass, rainbow trout, and channel catfish from the bank, pier, or boat.

Take a leisurely stroll along the shore to watch the ducks and geese float by and picnic at the tables in the shade under the trees. You can even pitch a tent free of charge or park your RV at the campground on sites with water and electricity near restrooms with showers. The park has a four-field softball complex, skeet range, and indoor pistol range and is home to the town’s rodeo grounds.

Recreation Park is one mile east of town off US Highway 60 and is open from 8 a.m. to dusk all year round.
